As communities use more renewable energy and codes and standards evolve, we have a growing need for qualified persons. Learn how to identify qualified persons and help professionals become better qualified.

Qualified persons can have an enormous impact on public safety and the overall reputation of the renewable energy industry. They can

This guidance document on Qualified Persons and Renewable Energy Systems discusses concepts and terminology from applicable codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code, the NPFA 70E(R) Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace(R), Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, and other resources.

The document also includes an extensive collection of certificates, certifications, and training resources that can help people become better qualified in the industry.

SEAC’s Qualified Professionals working group provides this guidance to help contractors, code officials, first responders, and other professionals ensure projects are built in accordance with applicable codes and standards. We published the document in January 2023.
