Join SEAC for a half-day virtual workshop on the codes, standards, safety, and risk considerations when permitting Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The event takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 12–4 p.m. ET / 9–1 p.m. PT.

At SEAC’s the Sept. 24 general meeting, Interstate Renewable Energy Council Chief Regulatory Engineer Brian Lydic gave an overview of the interconnection process for distributed energy resources and discussed challenges and solutions for distributed energy resources going through interconnection.

Follow a step-by-step checklist for meeting electrical and structural requirements in residential solar and battery storage systems.

This SEAC document provides a high-level overview of the Safety Standard “ANSI/CAN/UL 9540 Energy Storage Systems and Equipment” and the UL thermal runaway fire propagation test method “ANSI/CAN/UL 9540A Test Method for Evaluating Thermal Runaway Fire Propagation in Battery Energy Storage Systems” (BESS).

This presentation examines the roles and responsibilities of AHJs in administering codes and standards.

In this training ConnectDER provides a technical overview of the newer generation of Meter Socket Adapters (MSA).

The purpose of this training is to provide participants with a working understanding of fire response profiles and best practices for battery incidents.

This document addresses code compliant connection and use of portable/movable BESS that are certified to the appropriate safety standards and which comply with the governing building and electrical codes.

The purpose of this training is to provide participants with best practice guidance on how to protect single-ply roofing systems during solar PV installation.

This document provides general guidance for building departments to review plans and issue permits for the installation of steep-slope building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) roof coverings on one- and two-family dwellings as governed by the International Residential Code (IRC) and National Electrical Code (NEC).
